NEW FRONTIERS

-> Please browse our Program & Schedule for all details here ***

We are facing unprecedented challenges in our natural & human-made, cultural, social & built environments. Working at the intersection of human needs, creative innovation, education, critical thinking, computing, science, design & technology, CAAD practitioners & researchers are uniquely placed to engage with these challenges & frontiers.

Especially our Asian context, with its philosophical richness & its rising influence on the world stage, offers NEW FRONTIERS to develop relevant discourses and, possibly, appropriate cures.

CAADRIA2010 presents Papers, Round-table seminars, Posters, Exhibitions, Workshops & Postgraduate Students' research that address these NEW FRONTIERS:

  • Intelligence & Cognition
  • Research & Practice
  • Human & Computer
  • Theory & Philosophy
  • Education & Learning
  • Culture & Heritage
  • Ubiquity & Environment
  • Collaboration & Community
  • Computation & Information
  • Generative & Parametric
  • Modelling & Process
  • Visualization & Animation
  • Simulation & Testing
  • Virtuality & Reality

We cordially invite you to attend the 15th CAADRIA Conference NEW FRONTIERS 7-10 April 2010 that is co-hosted by the School of Architecture & Institute of Space & Earth Information Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. -> Contact Us

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

We are pleased to present three Keynote Speakers. One Keynote will be held each day setting the tone for the presentations and discussions. Please refer for details to the Conference Program. More information about the Keynotes Speakers are listed below.

WORKSHOP McNeel Rhinoceros

CAADRIA2010 offers an innovative workshop for designers who are exploring new shapes using generative algorithms. Grasshopper™ is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino3D modeling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe-inspiring.

  • Duration: 1.5 days. Friday, 9 April afternoon & Saturday, 10 April 2010
  • Cost: free of charge for CAADRIA2010 attendees
  • Prerequisites: Registration via i@caadria2010.org

CAADRIA CAADRIA

CAADRIA, the Association for Computer Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia, fosters research, education & praxis in advancing knowledge & understanding in digital design methods in architecture. All conference participants become automatically member of CAADRIA. Details about CAADRIA and its mission are at www.CAADRIA.org.
